Rubbish TV That You Loved As A Teen : The Queens Nose

Oh, another TV classic had to be The Queen’s Nose, which was based on a book written by Dick King-Smith, and left me rubbing every 50p I came into contact with for about a year.

Centred around the life of Harmony, who is given a magical 50p coin by her mysterious Uncle Ginger who promptly disappears while exploring in Tibet, she quickly discovers that when she rubs the Queen’s nose on the coin she is granted wishes.

Whilst only allocated 10 wishes, the series obviously features all manner of problems – bringing the phrase ’be careful what you wish for’ a whole new meaning – and often including Haromony’s sister Melody as well as the rest of the Parker family.

I am sure some of you must have had the same 50p rubbing phase when you were my age, come on, admit it!
