Lady GaGa’s New Album Is Basically Her Old Album Remixed

Why on EARTH doesn’t Lady GaGa release a new album instead of releasing a reworked version of The Fame again?

First came The Fame, then The Fame Monster (with a couple of new songs) and now we’ve got Lady Gaga – The Remix which features ten songs from The Fame and The Fame Monster including Gaga hits like “Just Dance”, “Poker Face”, “LoveGame”, “Paparazzi”, “Bad Romance”, “Telephone” and “Alejandro” all remixed by DJ’s and artists.

Don’t get me wrong, I know Lady GaGa is good at what she does, but any other artist who did this would be accused of milking it a bit, I mean could you imagine Eminem releasing an album, and then releasing it again with two more songs, and then cashing in AGAIN by just saying; ‘Oh, here’s a remix’

Will YOU be buying it?

  1. It’s a funny one, this. Well, she *is* a funny one…But despite all her originality, she remains a commercial artist. And from there comes all the purses her record company can squeeze until the pips squeak. It is asking a lot of fans to pay out for another version of the album, no less because so many remixes (many better) are on YouTube in their hundreds.

You’re right in a way, but a lot of other artists do this, Think Linkin Park’s remix album – I have always struggled to see the point in that, and rapidly lost any respect I ever had for them after that. I’m not sure I could ever lose respect for the Gaga though, she’s my ‘doing the washing up’ music.

It’s the people stupid enough to buy the album you should be worried about, I guess.

  2. There is a definate trend towards the remix methinks. It is a commercial squeeze as Doktorb says. Live album next? 😉
